Can I change my dogs food?
Yes, if you decide you want to try your dog on a new food, a new flavour or if you need to change your dogs diet for any other reason its perfectly fine to do so. Just remember that you want the transition to be gentle on your dogs stomach so make sure you buy the new food while you still have some of the old stuff left. Work out how much of this new food you should feed your dog based on his weight (if its a higher quality food you will generally need to feed less per meal, if its a lower quality then you will need to feed more). For the first few days mix about 3/4 of the old food with 1/4 new food, then do 1/2 and 1/2 for a few days, then 3/4 new food for the final few days before going 100% the new dog food. If at any point your dog shows signs of stomach upset move back a step for a few days.

How long does a bag of food last?
All bags of dog food will last different times depending on the bag size, food quality and your dogs breed size and activity level. The best way to work this out is to look at the feeding guide and work out how many meals you would get out of the food for your dog. Remember to store your food as per the bag instructions once opened and keep it out of reach of your dog otherwise it could run out a lot faster.

How much does it cost to feed a dog per day?
To work out cost per day or cost per meal for dog food you need to look at the feeding guide to asses the recommended amount of grams you should feed a dog of his size. This is where a lot of owners go wrong, they compare a £20 bag of food and a £30 bag of food and assume that it is cheaper to buy the £20 food, and then find themselves buying the £20 bag again sooner than they would have had to for the £30 bag. Generally speaking it is also cheaper to buy the bulk 12kg or 15kg bags, but if you only have one smaller dog then freshness can be lost.
